A first of its kind, I am hoping to create a series of tone poems that will expand and explore the world opened by “Through the Bay”. Having massive success this year with 10 orchestras joined in to bring this first installment to life and I could not be more grateful!

A goal I have not only as a composer, but as a storyteller, is to create experiences that focus on world building, character development, perspectives; to get the listener to think and theorize about what they are hearing in a fun and engaging way. Because of this project, I feel that I created a universe with “Through the Bay” and with the listeners (and you, the musicians’) help, I wish to expand this world in the form of a series that will continue the story. What happens after the events of “Through the Bay?” Where should we go?

That is up to us!

What happens next? - “Through the Bay”

Announcing: A Narritve Consortium Series (2023-)

With the first installment still underway with performances in 2024, it will be some time before the next phase starts, but that does not mean YOU cannot join and help me prepare for launch. If interested, please join this newsletter to know when I plan to make the second consortium project live!

Some logistical things to know about these future installments:

Instrumentation:

Will follow the original (2222-4331-Timp+2-Piano-Strings) but may slowly include more auxillaries as the world expands and would best treated by the timbres of these instruments: Piccolo, English Horn, Bass Clarinet, Contrabassoon. I will work to make these parts available in other members of the orchestra.

Programming:

Each of these 4 installments have the intention of being programmed together to become a whole series of about a total of 40-50 mins worth of music, HOWEVER, each installment will be available as ‘stand alone’ pieces that can best fit your programs and concert themes.

Consortium Buy-Ins:

TBD
