Written for the SANDBOX Percussion Quartet

Percussion 1 (Glockenspiel +bow)

Percussion 2 (Vibraphone +bow)

Percussion 3 (Congas, Bongos)

Percussion 4 (Four Concert Toms + Kick Drum)

Program Note

Three miniatures with no breaks, named as:

I. Stump & Roots

II. Bark & Stem

III. Crown & Head

Each miniature has their own separate grooves, meant to keep the audience on their toes that then combine for an intense finish! I was inspired by nature and anatomy hence the titles. I wanted to essentially paint pictures of these terms in the form of loud and incredibly quiet passages.
